Two big rankings of prospects dropped today Allen Craig Jersey , and things are looking somewhat up for the D-backs"The Baseball America listing is tucked away behind a pay-wall, but I’ve been able to confirm that there are two Diamondbacks present on it:#59 - Jazz Chisholm#86 - Jon DuplantierChisholm wasn’t listed at all last season, so that’s a significant leap forward for our young shortstop. He batted .272 with 25 home-runs between A-ball and High A last year, despite being young for both levels - he won’t turn 21 until the a week Friday. Duplantier is a hold over from the 2017 ranking, though has slipped a few notches from there - he was previously ranked #73 in last year’s rankings. This probably reflects an injury-limited 2018 campaign, where he managed only 16 starts in the minors, due to bicep tendinitis. Though he did get work in the Arizona Fall League, and put up impressive strikeout numbers, with 32 K’s over 21.2 innings there. The Baseball Prospectus list is actually 101 players, and there are some differences from the Baseball America selection, though both agree that Vlad Jr is the top prospect in all baseball. The D-backs listed are as follows:#69 - Jazz Chisholm#90 - Jon Duplantier#100. Kristian RobinsonChisholm and Duplantier are also on the BA list, and similarly ranked, both within 10 spots of their positions there. Robinson is the interesting one, especially in light of his age. He’s not just 18 - he only turned 18 last month. Yes, he wasn’t even a year old when the D-backs won the World Series. I now feel ancient... Smile I’ve not done any kind of check, but strongly suspect there are likely few younger players present in the top hundred. Of course, that youth means he’s a long way from the majors, and a lot can happen. If he’s here before late 2022 he’ll be part of a small group: only four position players have appeared in 50+ games for the D-backs on or before their 22nd birthday. [Trivia question: name them]. There are general signs that the Diamondbacks farm system is moving in the right direction once more. It’s still very much a work in progress, and outside of Duplantier http://www.padresfanproshop.com/authentic-brad-hand-jersey , most of the potential high-impact talent is in the lower portions of the farm system. So it’s likely to be some time before the prospects are ready to make an impact at the major-league level for the D-backs. However, throw in the slew of early picks in the upcoming draft, and things are certainly looking a lot better than they were for Arizona’s minor-league system. Fingers crossed the improvement continues in 2019, and perhaps next year, we’ll get some more names present in these lists. The four position players to have appeared for the D-backs 50+ times on or before their 22nd birthday are: Justin Upton (411 games), Gerardo Parra (144), Karim Garcia (113) and and Chris Owings (92). The Boston Red Sox are clearly comfortable playing on the road. After recording a 51-30 mark away from Fenway Park during the regular season, the Red Sox went 2-0 in the American League Division Series at Yankee Stadium to clinch that series. They bludgeoned the Bronx Bombers in one game and hung on for a close victory in the other, so the 108-win team should be confident it can play in the noise cauldron that is Minute Maid Park in the American League Championship Series. However, it will not be easy. The Houston Astros have dominated postseason baseball at home, recording a 10-1 mark since the start of last October when they faced the Red Sox, Yankees, Dodgers and Indians (this year's ALDS).The Astros will send left-hander Dallas Keuchel to the mound to subdue Mookie Betts, J.D. Martinez, Xander Bogaerts and Andrew Benintendi. Betts had two doubles in Boston's Game 2 victory, while the Red Sox are hoping that Martinez can show off some of his power that allowed him to hit 43 home runs and drive in 130 runs this season. Martinez homered in his first postseason at-bat in the ALDS, but he has not hit a long ball since.Mike Petriello mike_petrielloKeuchel vs Eovaldi tonight. Its huge in the context of the ALCS, obviously, but its also interesting to think that these are going to be 2 of the top 3-4 FA SP available this winter. cwF0h7aF4wBoston will start hard-throwing Nathan Eovaldi Tony Gwynn Jersey , and the former Tampa Bay Ray hopes to emulate his Game 3 performance against the Yankees. Eovaldi dominated that strike zone in New York, pitched seven innings, gave up five hits, one run, struck out five and did not walk a batter.Theright-hander is going to attempt to hold down Alex Bregman, George Springer, Yuli Gurriel and Jose Altuve. Bregman, one of the game's best clutch hitters, is 0-for-3 in the series against the Red Sox with six walks.Eovaldi allowed four solo home runs when he pitched against the Astros on June 20 with the Rays, but he is throwing more cutters now."I definitely feel it's gotten the hitters off my fastball and then it's allowed me to get some earlier contact and go deeper into the games and not have to be so perfect with my fastball," Eovaldi said, per Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe. "And I'm able to mix in other pitches along with that and kind of go from there."The Red Sox and the Astros will meet at 5:09 p.m. Tuesday, and the game will be televised by TBS. It can be live-streamed at MLB.TV.The Astros are minus-135 favorites to win Game 3, while the Red Sox are plus-115 underdogs, per OddsShark(an Astros bettor would have to wager $135 to earn a $100 profit, while a Red Sox backer would risk $100 to win $115).
